What a lovely date..something about it. Its a beautiful morning here in Thessaloniki..clear blue skies and a lovely sunny morning.The swallows are dancing in the sky and that makes me happy. I often wonder what its like to be able to fly and feel so free...

I might take a walk down the beach today, maybe collect some driftwood for a project. Its far too nice a day to stay in.

May day

Its the 1st of may tomorrow. Here in Greece it means going into the countryside to ' catch May"
its a tradition to pick wildflowers and bring them back to decorate your front door. Most people display them on their cars. Its followed by a picnic or barbecue. A happy joyous day,,,

Recipe pork chops and potatoes in mustard and lemon sauce

Just cooked some pork chops and potatoes in a mustard and lemon sauce.I wanted a quick meal so I cooked the chops first in my pressure cooker untill tender. Then I added 3 heaped table spoons of mustard, juice of 1 lemon and a tsp of dry oregano. salt and pepper to taste. cooked for a further 7 mins and the result was delicious!

ingridients

 

2 large pork chops

3 large potatoes
3 table spoons wholegrain mustard

juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp of dry oregano

olive oil 4 table spoons
1/2 cup water

salt and pepper to taste

They say Thessaloniki is one one the top places for coffee culture. I relish it! To be able to sit for a good cup of coffee always served with a serving of biscuits and a bottle of water.

What better way to spend a couple of hours sipping coffee and people watching..usually with a sea view.To gossip with a friend and catch up on the latest. Its like a fashion show. People in Thessaloniki are very stylish and fashion concious. Despite the economic crisis they still manage to keep ahead. And for around 2.50 euros my coffee is well worth it!
